Hurricane Florence

We evacuated from our home on September 11, 2018. Here's a photo of the house the day we left:

Our house on September 20, 2018: (notice the front edge of the porch floated up off the foundation):

On September 27, 2018 we were finally able to get to our house. Here's some photos of what we saw:

Water was still on the ground. closeup of the front deck that had floated.

Living room - our first look inside. Water was 80" deep INSIDE the house. Almost 11 total feet of water from ground level to the water line.

Kitchen - the fridge had floated up on it's back and landed partially on the cabinets. There was a photo on the fridge my wife wanted to save and it was perfectly dry.

The sum total of everything we were able to save (we did not have flood insurance on contents - only on the house):
